Frame

1789

Untraced

The attachment, in the customer's writing, asks for a 22" 531 double-butted frame with standard clearance for guards, taking 20–25–28 mm tyres and 700c wheels, threaded eyelets for guard stays, top tube lugs for the rear brake cable, the usual gear cable guides, Campag rear ends to take a 6-speed block, a pair of bottle lugs and a front lamp bracket boss. It asks for no twin gear lever bosses but a stop on the down tube to use his existing clip-on Campag levers, yet the sheet records “TWO” bosses and a clip pip. The purpose is given as long touring rides and possible time trial, weight about 22 lb complete if possible, and the colour question answered “(No Blacks or Dark Greys) Possible Blue”; no finish is recorded on the sheet. The ENDS line is read as “Columbus (eyes)” but may be a Campag reference, given the attachment. No deposit or delivery date is recorded.
