“It’s all rideable”

Sid’s line, the one on the blue plaque outside the shop, drawn eight ways. A3, £38 each, with £8 from every one going to the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, the same charity the sheets have always supported.

These are posters rather than archive documents. If you came looking for your own frame, the register is where the worksheets are, and those print at the size they were written.

The printing

A3, 297 by 420mm. Rolled, it is the same 310gsm cotton rag the sheets are printed on. The artwork is type and flat colour rather than a photograph, so it is drawn at the size it prints and stays sharp right up to the paper.

Framed, it comes in solid wood, glazed and ready to hang, at £85 with £15 to the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. There is no mount on the framed one and it is printed on a smooth matte paper: these designs run their colour to the edge of the paper, and a mount is a card border laid over that edge, so it would crop every one of them.

The dates on them are the shop’s: Sid Standard Cycles ran on Chilwell Road from 1975 until Sid retired in 2000. More about Sid.
