Delivery was promised at 6/8 weeks with a deposit received. “531C” heads the sheet with something scribbled out after it, and the chrome line is struck through; the finish was to match a sample. Two telephone numbers are pencilled outside the boxes, one above the name and one beside the address. The attachment is a punched notepad page headed “FRAME”, costing the extras: mudguard eyes, Shimano Deore cantilever brake pivots and centre-pull brake bridge at £10 + £7, an Allen-key seat lug fitting at £5, a “pip” on the down tube for gear levers and brake cable guides, with “additional eyes for carriers” and “low rack eyes brazed on” struck through, a starred note “to accomodate 700 cm wheels” (as written), and a sum of 175 for the basic 531C frame plus 17 and 5, £197 in all.
