Written across the head of the sheet: “Complete cycle” and, underlined, “700c wheels” — this was an order for a whole bicycle rather than a frameset. Delivery promised 4 April, five weeks out; deposit £25. The surname is read from a fast hand and could as easily be Kirkby.
