£180 written at the head of the sheet, delivery ASAP, and OK scrawled across the middle of it in a heavier pencil. SPRINTS is written in capitals and underlined in the top corner, above the date. The lining and transfer colours were changed twice before settling on gold.

- Medium blue flake, from a sample the customer supplied. Lugs lined gold, gold transfers — both written over “white”, which was itself written over “gold”.
