“531 D.B.” heads the sheet and “Clearance ¼″ less” is written beside the title. No date appears anywhere on the sheet; a £20 deposit is recorded. Nothing at all is entered in the paint section — no finish, lug lining or transfers. The address district is written only as initials read as “L.E.”, perhaps Long Eaton, and the second address line carries a six-figure number that reads as a telephone number; “chain peg” under other details is a fast-hand reading and could be otherwise.
