“531 DB” and “700c” are written above the printed heading; no date appears anywhere, so no year is recorded, and the type of crown is given as “STD”. The attachment is a costed build list for the order — frame £165, quick-release wheels, Madison saddle, 36–48 chainset, bars and stem, Lyotard pedals, clips and straps, mudguards, seat pillar, chain, block, gears, tape, plugs, track nuts and pump — with most prices reworked, several items ticked off, and “Mr Hackland” written across it. Its reverse carries a few faint part-sketches and the jotting “Red enamel”.
