“653”, underlined, is written across the top left corner for the tubing. Delivery was promised at six weeks and no deposit is recorded. The brakes line is read as “Ultegra 600 type, short” but the first word is in a fast hand and is not certain, and the district on the address line reads closer to “Woolaton” than Wollaton. Several of the braze-on lines (h'bar control eyes, gear lever clip pip, lamp boss, pump pegs, centre pull brake bridge) carry only a pen stroke, which could be read as a tick or a striking-out; they are left out of the specification above.
